Research area

Christoph Gantenbein’s research: In the age of globalization, the metropolises are experiencing unprecedented growth. This social and economic dynamic necessitates and facilitates the development of contemporary cities; this is the challenge of our time. The architecture of the city is our object of research. Using the method of typological transfer, he examines the potential of existing city architecture as a building block for a sustainable, dense and urban city of the future.

He was born in St. Gallen in 1971. Christoph Gantenbein studied architecture at ETH Zurich, graduating under Professor Hans Kollhoff in 1998.
