Huber Fritz was Full Professor at the Institute of Industrial Engineering and Management at ETH Zurich from 1987 to 2001.



Born in 1939, citizen of Switzerland, Prof. Huber completed an apprenticeship as draftsman before taking up technical engineering studies at the ETH Zurich. Subsequently, he went on to supplement these with studies in industrial management and manufacturing. Huber then entered the company of Landis & Gyr in Zug where he was director of manufacturing when he was called to the ETH Zurich in 1987. From 1989-1993, he was head of the newly founded Faculty IIIE Industrial Management and Manufacturing. Huber was decisively involved right from the start with the inception of this faculty and the creation of its degree courses. His main areas of teaching and research lied in the area of product and process innovation, operations management as well as industrial network and innovation management.
