University of Queensland honors Michelle Grant with Distinguished Young Alumni Award
Michelle Grant, Executive Director of the World Food System Center, has received the University of Queensland Distinguished Young Alumni Award 2017. She is a food systems specialist and educator who runs the world-leading competence center tackling global food system challenges.
The University of Queensland yearly honors its outstanding alumni at its Courting the Great ceremony. This year, on 11 October 2017, Michelle Grant, founding Executive Director of the World Food System Center at ETH Zurich, was honored. Under her leadership, the World Food System Center has supported more than 30 research projects and awarded over 7.2 million CHF in competitive research funding. Throughout her career, Grant has demonstrated a commitment to educating and cultivating young leaders. Over the last decade, in current and previous roles, she has designed and implemented post-graduate level education programs on sustainability and food systems in Latin America, Asia, Africa and Europe - training thousands of graduates.
