Christoph Schär receives honorary doctorate from University of Innsbruck
The Austrian University of Innsbruck has awarded Christoph Schär an honorary doctorate in natural sciences.
Christoph Schär, Professor of Climate and Water Cycle at ETH Zurich, has received an honorary doctorate in natural sciences at the University of Innsbruck. At the Dies Academicus celebration, the University acknowledged his contributions to a better understanding of climate change.
"With his affinity for climate science, his profound understanding of numerical modelling, Christoph Schär has been instrumental in shaping many of the important and fundamental developments in climate science in recent times,” states the University. “Schär's experience and knowledge of atmospheric dynamics and his interest in computational science is something he knows how to couple masterfully, adding massive value to the climate discussion. The university now honours Schär's outstanding achievements with an honorary doctorate in natural sciences.”
