Data communication in the server rooms (DC) at ETH Zurich is an exclusive task of ID-Infrastructure. These operate to a redundant, high-performance network of active components.
The data network (In DC) is primarily the “server maintainer” for business at ETH. ETH related units (spin-offs, student organisations, cooperation partners etc.) can also use the service in according with agreed terms.
The service is available to all ETH organisational units free of charge. The first point of contact for all support issues in data networks is your computer Science Support group/ ISG (department contacts). Visitors, students and other groups without an ISG can contact the Service Desk.
In DC (Data communications) the standards change very fast. Therefore, to decided which service connect is best each must be looked at on a case by case basis. The ISG / ISL can contact the Data Networks group directly for support and questions.
