The new rules of procedure to address scientific misconduct enter into effect on 1 June 2024 at ETH Zurich. What has changed and why a revision was necessary.

Professorships are one of the focal points of the rETHink project. But what does the professorship of the future look like? Workstream 2 of rETHink is responsible for finding out, and they completed a comprehensive analysis of this question last year. Project focus groups drew attention to autonomy – both on an academic and an organisational level – as a vitally important aspect of professorships at the university.

Since Monday, wearing a facemask as soon as you enter any university building has been compulsory at ETH Zurich. In this interview, Dr Leonhard Sigel, head of the Occupational Medicine and Health Protection section of SSHE at our university, explains why facemasks are a necessary and sensible measure.

Monday, 31 August sees the start of the next stage of the ETH Master Plan for restart, which mainly concerns the Autumn Semester 2020 and will last up to the end of the year. To keep the risk of coronavirus spreading as low as possible, everyone will be required to wear a facemask as soon as they enter any ETH building. This measure already applies from 24 August.

More freedom, more flexibility – as ETH continues to develop, its corporate design is keeping pace. We are reinvigorating our corporate design to give it a more incisive, modern and attractive look. Even more importantly, we are ensuring consistency and clarity across all channels and conveying a strong message for a strong university with a promising future.

Last Friday the Executive Board communicated the master plan setting out how ETH Zurich intends to resume normal operations. At yesterday’s virtual townhall meeting, the Executive Board answered all the relevant questions asked by ETH members.
