The ETH Competence Center Rehabilitation Engineering and Science (RESC) is launching a new online lecture series. The first edition will start on 28 November 2022 featuring speaker Roger Gassert, Professor of Rehabilitation Engineering at ETH Zurich.

The 100 best girls from the Kangaroo mathematics competition were given the opportunity to visit ETH on 9 June. Former ski racer and physicist Dominique Gisin accompanied the girls as a mentor. ETH female researchers gave an insight into their research work.

The opening of the development and laboratory building on the Gloriarank (GLC) site has been delayed once again. According to the current planning status, the professorships will be able to start moving in from autumn 2022, and the building will open for the 2023 spring semester. Both teaching and research at ETH are affected significantly by the delay.

ETH Zurich has launched a new technology platform for clinical trials. The digital Trial Intervention Platform (dTIP) is designed to guide and support researchers and spin-offs in implementing clinical trials and to drive forward health-related research.  

ETH Zurich is launching a comprehensive research initiative in a previously overlooked field of medicine, namely the medium and long-term rehabilitation of patients. The last Executive Board meetings also covered the election of two new ombudspersons, the annual gender monitoring report and the new Financial Regulations.

An info room in the former anatomy building at University Hospital Zurich provides information on developments in Zurich’s central university district. There is also a poster exhibition in ETH’s main building that discusses what will happen to the urban space between the buildings.

D University Medicine Zurich is an initiative by ETH Zurich, University of Zurich and the university hospitals in Zurich. A new flagship project was launched at its annual event in late November. The aim of the University Medicine Zurich collaboration is to strengthen academic medicine. This objective is also supported by the new Balgrist Campus.

The close proximity of the University Hospital Zurich, the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich in the Zurich city university district offers a great opportunity for research, teaching and medical care. The Mobile Health Laboratory of ETH Zurich is looking for 100 intact Android phones (version 4.0 and higher) for a research project in Peru. They will be used to help diagnose pneumonia in young children. Bring or send your phone by the end of May 2015. 

The Ethics Commission met for the first time this week following last month's staffing change. The Commission welcomes three new members to its ranks.
