Update from 5 May 2022: The collection campaign will continue at least until the end of May. However, the drop-off location has changed and is now located in building HPT C 117. Please also note that the items that are most needed are constantly changing. Therefore, external pagecheck the corresponding list regularly.

The people in Ukraine need our help. But this help has to get through to those that need it. This is what the Friends of Ukraine organisation has committed to achieving. It is operating collection points in Geneva, Warsaw and Zurich and organising the transport of aid to Ukraine. On reaching Ukraine, the supplies will be handed over to the Ukrainian military, who will distribute them in the areas where they are most urgently needed.

The ETH Students’ Association (VSETH) is supporting the nationwide collection campaign and will initially operate a collection point on the Hönggerberg campus from 21 to 25 March – or longer if necessary. You can drop off relief supplies in building HXE B2 from 4 to 6 p.m. on weekdays. Alternatively, you can hand them in at the collection point in the Main Building of the University of Zurich in the Centre, which is operated by VSUZH. You can find a list of all Friends of Ukraine collection points external pagehere.

The supplies will be collected every evening and taken to a warehouse in the Zentralwäscherei Zürich, from where they will be transported to Ukraine. Please check the external pagelist to see which relief supplies are most needed (list updated daily).

Please hand in the supplies in cardboard boxes or sturdy bags. This will allow them to be transported easily to the central warehouse. No medicines or clothes are currently needed. Friends of Ukraine is working directly with the railway station pharmacies to obtain medicines. More than enough clothes have already been collected.

The organisers would be grateful if you could pack your donated materials carefully. This means:

  • Sorting the items before packing
  • Packing them in cardboard boxes
  • Labelling the boxes in detail and on all sides
