- Learning objectives: gain awareness of digital accessibility
- Prior knowledge: good basic computer skills

Course content
- Overview of accessibility (user groups, dimensions of disability, standards, significance, assistive technologies)
- Legal framework, overview of WCAG
- Visual requirements, e.g. colour vision deficiency, alternative text, contrast levels, use of colour
- Semantic requirements, e.g. headlines, lists, interactive navigation elements
- Keyboard usability
- Screen reader demonstration (using the internet from the perspective of a visually impaired user)
- Brief overview of testing tools
How to Write Good Alternative Texts
Topic with real-world applications; important for AEM authors; open to all interested parties.

- Online course, usually conducted via Teams; length: max. 60 minutes
- Number of participants: 15
- Free of charge; only for ETH members
- Prior knowledge: basic knowledge of digital accessibility issues is useful (e.g. by attending the Introduction to Digital Accessibility course)
- Course instructor: Matija Pavic or Manu Heim
- Around 40-minute introduction by Manu Heim, followed by concrete examples from participants (discussion style)
