Studying with Dyslexia or AD(H)D

Students with a specific learning disability such as Dyslexia or AD(H)D have the option of applying for special arrangements with regard to performance assessments.

Medical certificate

In connection with an application for special arrangements owing to Dyslexia or AD(H)D, ETH Zurich formally requires a neuropsychological expert assessment conducted by an expert or an expert service.

In the case of Dyslexia, students may also submit an assessment conducted by a speech therapist or a development paediatrician.

The assessment must have been conducted in adulthood (after the 16th year). If your assessment is older, you will have to have it conducted again. As a rule, the assessment should not be older than two years.

In the Zurich area, we can recommend the following assessment services, for example:

Assessment services, Dislexia

Assessment services, AD(H)D

Diagnostic certificates of other specialised services are also accepted.

Achtung

Please note that

  • you should allow for sufficient time for the diagnostic assessment (long waiting times in the assessment services),
  • you will have to expect an assessment for Dyslexia in adulthood to be subject to a fee.
