Lopez-Loreta Prize 2020

Jochen Mueller, former doctoral student in the Engineering Design and Computing Laboratory of Professor Kristina Shea at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering, was awarded the Lopez-​Loreta Prize.

Jochen Mueller received the Lopez-​Loreta Prize at the ETH Day on 21 November 2020, for his research project on "Next-​Generation Prosthetics: Towards the end of disability via digital fabrication". The prize, worth 1 million Euros, is awarded once a year by the Fondation Jean-​Jacques et Felicia Lopez-​Loreta pour excellence académique for research and innovation projects. The laureates must spend the money within five years for their research. Currently Mueller is continuing his scientific studies at the Harvard School of Engineering in Boston (USA).
