Power/network interruption Thursday, November 21, 2024 between 06:30 - 07:30 in the HCI Finger 1 building

On Thursday, November 21, 2024, there will be a power interruption in the HCI Finger 1 building between 06:30 - 07:30 due to the periodic electrical inspection.  The entire network of the floor switches swi-hci-c113-a, swi-hci-c113-b, swi-hci-c129-a, swi-hci-c129-b, swi-hci-c125-5-a, swi-hci-c137-a, swi-hci-c137-b including telephony and WLAN in HCI Finger 1 will also be affected by this interruption.

Stromunterbruch Freitag, 22. November 2024 zwischen 07:00 - 08:00 Uhr im Gebäude ONA

On Friday, November 22, 2024, there will be a power interruption in the ONA building between 07:00 - 08:00 due to maintenance work on the electrical distribution.
The hall E25 and the carpentry workshop in the EO are affected by this interruption. The network switch swi-ona-eo28-a and swi-ona-eo28-b should continue to run without interruption thanks to the UPS connection.

Spectrum Scale NAS12 CES software upgrade at Zentrum location from 25.11.2024 from 7 pm until 26.11.2024 11 pm

On the Spectrum Scale system (NAS12) at the Zentrum location we are planning a software update on the access servers (CES) from 25.11.2024 at 7:00 pm to 26.11.2024at 11 pm.

This action is part of a regular update. All actions that could be critical for the availability of the NAS service will only be carried out after 7 pm.

On Thursday, November 21, 2024 from approx. 06:00-08:00 there will be a network interruption as a result of the access upgrade in the HCI building.
The floor switch swi-hci-c337-a with rooms 333 - 350 on floors F, G, H, J is affected by this interruption

NAS12 backend storage update at Zentrum location 18.11.2024 from 7.00 pm until 21.11.2024 5 pm

On the Spectrum Scale system (NAS12) at the Zentrum location, a software update of the backend storage systems is planed from 18.11.2024 at 7:00 pm to 21.11.2024 5pm.

This action is part of a regular update. In principle, this update should be without interruptions for the NAS Service. All actions that could be critical for the availability of the NAS service will only be carried out after 7 pm.

We will inform you as soon as the updates are installed.

Zone Router Cx Hardware Lifecycle

As part of the lifecycle, on November 28, the hardware will be replaced from the router Cx. When: on 28.11.2024 between 20:00 and 23:00 What is affected: The entire data network of the network zone Cx, including wifi and Data Center DCCx.

Rollout of the new Cisco Secure VPN Client from Tuesday 26.11.2024 at 8:00 a.m

An updated version of the Cisco Secure VPN Client (Version 5.1.6.103) is now available for the desktop operating systems Windows, MacOS and Linux. Please note that the client has been renamed by Cisco from "AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client" to just "Secure Client". The new version includes several bug fixes. The new images are available now in the IT-Shop (https://itshop.ethz.ch/). On Tuesday 26.11.2024 at 8:00 a.m we will force the upgrade through the VPN Gateway. Clients that connect to ETH via VPN after that time will receive the update automatically.
