Prospective students with a disability or chronic illness

""

Early planning, networking and good organisation are of major importance for a successful mastery of the challenges of studying with a disability.

For this reason, please contact us early on if you are interested in a degree course at ETH, require far-reaching adaptations for your studies and would like to apply for special arrangements with regard to performance assessments.

In order to satisfy students’ requirements, solutions should be found individually and in keeping with the type of disability to create appropriate general conditions.

Specific requirements of degree programmes

Please consult our website to obtain information about the specific requirements of the degree programme you are considering, and think about where and what type of adaptations you will require.
If you have any questions that specifically concern a degree programme, you may also avail yourself of personal advice regarding your choice of degree programme.

Special arrangements with regard to performance assessments

If you suffer from a disability which requires substantial modifications of conditions in the form of special arrangements with regard to performance assessments and affects compulsory subjects and practical activities in the degree programme, these modifications will have to be clarified with us before you take up your studies.

Mobility

Your transport to the university, parking options (wheelchair parking area), your residential situation and assistance services should also be clarified, preferably in the run-up to your studies. Consultations with the external pagedisability insurance scheme or health insurance company with regard to funding aids, assistants or suitable housing should also be settled before prospective students take up their studies.
