Breastfeeding and baby care at ETH

During the child’s first year of age, nursing persons have legal claim for external pagepaid nursing hours during working time. This also applies to expressing breastmilk.

An overview of all rooms that can be used for breastfeeding and/or diapering at the various ETH Zurich locations is provided by the Safety, Security, Health and Environment administrative department (SSHE) or can be found in the accordion below:

ETH Zurich follows the recommendation by external pageBreastfeeding Promotion Switzerland (Verein Stillförderung Schweiz) and provides first aid rooms to nursing persons for baby care.

In order to obtain a key for the first aid rooms, nursing persons are kindly requested to contact SSHE at . The key basically grants access to all first aid rooms at ETH Zurich. People who would like to use the room on a one-time basis contact ISC HIL D 25.1.

The following first aid rooms are available for breastfeeding:

*pleasant and calm room, chair with armrest available, sufficient shelf space, basin available

If you use the breastfeeding rooms regularly, it is advisable to bring a breastfeeding pillow on your own responsibility.
