Q&A – Physical activity doesn't necessarily mean sports

HRV describes the fact that our heart reacts to external influences with every heart beat. This adaptability is a mirror of our physical and mental strain, therefore is a mirror of our energy level and resources.

The ideal heart level doesn’t change a lot with age and weight. It might change with a completely different lifestyle and fitness level over years.

Without a calculation which can be done by a sports medicine your body signals would be not to be hungry or exhausted and that you could do the same training again because it was so low intensive.

Nordic walking, fast walk, running, stepper, rowing, cycling. Cross-country skiing, inline skating.

Zumba and other dance lessons

They can be involved, but there is no need. I prefer nordic walking sticks or cross trainer handles.

No, I wouldn’t eat as I am not hungry afterwards ;-). It is recommended not to eat sweets. Otherwise you can eat whatever you want.

HIIT trainings are too intense. You won’t be in a fat metabolism but in the carbohydrate metabolism, so no fat burning is possible.

In that case, intensive exercise might be more beneficial with regard to mental benefits. Of course your high adrenalin in busy times will let you feel better in intensive trainings as it pushes these hormones again. But your stress release hormone is serotonin and it won’t be triggered then. Mid-term you have more mental benefits with a moderate training.
