Getting Ready for Quantum Computing

Quantum computing is positioned to complement classical computing, eventually expanding research and development. While not ready yet, quantum computing is developing rapidly. Are governments, industries, citizens aware of the enormous challenges – technical, political, intellectual –  that come with this technology? Can we identify what is missing today in the fields of governance and infrastructure in order to benefit from this revolution?

12.30-15.30 CET
Joint workshop co-hosted by ETH AI Center, Merantix and Tübingen AI Center.

AI, Future, Europe

Europe has been the leading driver of civilisation for centuries, producing many of the world's most important inventions and innovations in the past. Today tech companies from the U.S. and China grow the fastest but the lack of economic sustainability and societal stability creates a tremendous demand for scientific knowledge and new solutions.
This workshop, co-hosted by the ETH AI Center, Merantix, and Tübingen AI Center, brings together innovative minds from science, politics, and business to discuss how Europe can become a leader in AI research and entrepreneurship.

WEF23 Rethinking Regeneration

Wednesday, 18 January 2023
17.30-18.30 CET

Joint session with NatureFinance

RETHINKING Regeneration

Consider for a moment that our entire global economy is fully dependent upon natural systems. Consider further that these are increasingly at risk around the world and are recognized as not being healthy enough to continue to support us. Nature-based solutions which act to protect natural ecosystems that benefit people and contribute to tackling climate change and protecting biodiversity are an opportunity to ensure a nature positive future by providing essential services such as carbon storage, ensuring food and water supplies and buffering against the impacts of a warming world. Thus, Nature-Based Finance are the next wave of critical and appropriate measures for all of us to not just to consider, but to act upon.

Followed by a networking reception, closing at 20.30.
