Information on studying with a disability or chronic illness

Are you studying at ETH Zurich and have questions about studying with a disability or chronic illness? On the following pages you will find information on support services and reasonable adjustments.

Reasonable adjustment measures

Depending on the situation, measures may be required to compensate for the disadvantages of students with disabilities.

Usually, these measures concern performance assessments. It requires a consultation at the Counselling & Coaching Centre and then an application for reasonable adjustments.

If additional aids are needed during the semester, students must inform themselves in the counselling appointment whether an additional applicaiton for reasonable adjustments is required. If you already have a medical certificate, bring it to the meeting. This way, an assessment can be made immediately to determine whether the medical certificate meets all the mandatory criteria. The goal of such measures is solely to compensate for the disadvantage resulting from the disability. With all measures, the main content related requirements of a course/examination must be fulfilled and the degree must remain equivalent.
