Conditions set by the departments
Here you will find the conditions that have been defined by the departments. They apply in addition to the programme-specific requirements and those of the Student Exchange Office.
A discussion with the departmental exchange coordinators early in the process is essential.
Attention: Some departments have earlier application deadlines than the Student Exchange Office due to departmental preselections. Check below if there is such a deadline for you. Usually, you will also find the link to the pre-application there.
The study plan must be approved before the exchange by your department (departmental exchange coordinator, perhaps the Chair or tutor). Otherwise, any credits acquired at the host university will not be recognised by ETH.
Most departments allow students to undertake Bachelor's and Master's thesis projects or practicals and research projects at other universities, in consultation with the responsible Chair.
