Critical study situations

There are situations in life that are challenging and can have a negative impact on the student's performance and advancement in the study programme. This is often associated with health problems and psychological stress. This can quickly lead to problems regarding the requirements of the programme regulation and/or the ETH Zurich Ordinance on Performance Assessments.

Your options

Help is available in such situations. The Counselling & Coaching Centre supports Bachelor's and Master's students with the following services:

  • Information on administrative requirements for your individual situation (e.g. deadlines, deregistration from exams, holidays, etc.)
  • Counselling on long-term study planning
  • Advice on various options (e.g. applying for exceptions such as deadline extensions)
  • Contacting internal contact points, e.g. in the department of your degree programme

Making an appointment

Contact the Counselling & Coaching Centre as early as possible to arrange a personal appointment.

If you have medical or other documents that are important for the counselling session, bring them with you to the appointment.
