Work station for online exams

An online examination is a performance assessment that is undertaken on a computer connected to a network (Intra- or Internet). As with conventional paper-pencil exams, online examinations at ETH Zurich take place in a central location and under supervision. Online examinations offer a wide variety of question formats such as multiple-choice, short answer, drag&drop or essay-type questions. They also provide a secure environment for competence-oriented performance assessments where students solve tasks with third-party software such as R-Studio or Matlab, and for open-book examinations with selective access to specific electronic information sources such as lecture slides, exercises or web resources.
