Write and publish

Hugh Kearns (Flinders University, Australia; ThinkWell)

This workshop will look at how to produce effective scientific writing, focusing on English language-related conventions and concerns. We will start with a discussion of strategies for finding and using appropriate vocabulary in your scientific writing. We then move on to look at tips for writing more reader-friendly complex sentences. Finally, the third part of the workshop will examine how writers can establish a better flow of information by creating smoother connections between sentences and by using effective paragraph structures. Participants in this workshop do not need to bring anything specific to the session.

Please note that the target audience of this seminar is non-native English speakers.
