New open-access resources in the Architecture and Civil Engineering Library

Not going abroad this summer? Wanderlust? No problem! The Self-Access Centre offers you the opportunity to tour the most beautiful museums in the world virtually and to learn a language at the same time.

From 08.06.2020, ETH Library will also be physically open to its customers again – albeit with restrictions due to the necessary protective measures.

Tandem learning is all about learning a language and talking to another person. Fortunately this can be done online.

Architecture and graphic novels – do the two really go together? Of course! Graphic novels combine art, literature and architecture. Visual representations depict travel through futuristic worlds, adventures in ominous-looking cities or lonely life in a megalopolis.

Are you planning a stay abroad? During this introductory meeting you will get to know how to improve your language skills in time for your stay abroad – alone or with a study partner. We will assist you in the following languages: English, French, Italian, Spanish 

Learn a language together with a study partner! You’ll define your own programme and set your own learning goals. The Self-Access Centre Hönggerberg will support you throughout the learning process and help you to find suitable study materials and activities.

Putting the finishing touches to an idea but you don’t have the right tool at hand? ETH Library togehter with Student Project House now loans out portable electric tools, complete with all the accessories for your project. These include pad sanders, impact screwdrivers or hammer drills.

Geodata offers a wide range of application fields: for instance, maps and 3D visualisations can be produced, changes in the landscape and the cityscape visualised, or terrain and climate models analysed.

You can now search for videos from ETH Zurich’s Videoportal on ETH Library’s Search Portal. The Videoportal comprises 17,000 recordings of events and lectures that were produced by ETH Zurich’s Multimedia Services and can be viewed on the Videoportal.

A new Search Portal enhances ETH Library’s website: as of immediately, you will find the seasoned, multi-resource search function with refined search options and a new look and feel at search.library.ethz.ch.
