Off we go!
World-class education, lifelong friendships, and excellent job prospects: first-semester students at ETH have high expectations.
Monday, 19 September 2016, shortly after sunrise. Maps, mobiles and notepads in hand, hundreds of first-semester students are getting off the tram and heading for the ETH main building in search of the right lecture halls for their welcome event. Most of them pick up a goodie bag from the Association of Students at ETH (VSETH) on the way. They’re now ready for their first day at ETH Zurich.
Eight of the 2,843 new students took a minute to share what they expect from their time at ETH and how they are feeling as it’s all about to begin.

It is just wonderful to look at this young folks. I wish they can keep their motivation and their curiosity during the entire life. I began my studies at ETH 45 years ago. This was one of my best decisions. I am still closely related to this school and I am thankful.
