Weekly residence
If you already live in Switzerland and would like to keep your main residence (address and health insurance) and only come to Zurich during the week to study, you can register as a student with weekly residence. You must apply for this within 14 days of moving in at the citizen hall or in Zurich at the external pageResidents' Registration Office (only availabe in German; book online an appointment) at your new place of residence.
You should bring the following documents:
- your residence permit for foreign nationals (Ausländerausweis)
- confirmation of residence (issued by the municipality of your main residence)
- your flat rental agreement
- Downloadextended confirmation of matriculation (PDF, 161 KB)
- handling fee of CHF 60
