The Nobel Prize honours outstanding achievements in the fields of physics, chemistry, medicine, literature and peace. The first prizes were awarded in 1901. So far, 22 Nobel Prizes have been awarded to researchers who have or had a connection with ETH Zurich. The Nobel Prize is today regarded as the highest possible award in these disciplines.
