Admission prerequisites
Holders of a Bachelor’s degree from EPF Lausanne must apply for the desired Master’s degree programme in the standard way. Admission to some degree programmes is guaranteed under certain conditions.
Holders of a Bachelor’s degree from EPF Lausanne must apply by the given deadlines like all others. They must have completed the EPF Lausanne Bachelor’s degree by the time lectures begin at ETH Zurich.
Language requirements
Holders of a Bachelor’s degree from EPF Lausanne are not required to present a level C1 English language certificate. However, they must present present a German language certificate if required by the selected programme before the application deadline expires.
Application for specialised Master’s degree programmes
Applications by EPFL graduates to all specialised ETH Zurich Master’s degree programme are evaluated in the standard way. The determining factor for admission is correspondence with the profile of requirements of the respective degree programme(s).
The same applies to consecutive Master’s degree programmes progression to which is not regularised in the respective programme regulations.
In these cases admission is not guaranteed and if granted may involve additional requirements or conditions.
Regularised progression to "consecutive" Master’s degree programmes
If the progression has been regularised in the respective programme regulations, holders of a Bachelor’s degree from EPF Lausanne are guaranteed admission to an ETH Master’s degree programme in the same discipline as the Bachelor’s programme without additional requirements. The details are provided below. Please note that progression is only possible if you apply for the desired Master’s degree programme by the given deadline.
Holders of a BSc in Chimie et Génie Chimique are guaranteed admission to the following ETH Zurich Master’s degree programmes without additional requirements:
- MSc Chemical and Bioengineering (condition: admission without additional requirements to the EPFL Master’s degree programme "Génie chimique et biotechnologie")
- MSc Chemistry (condition: admission without additional requirements to the EPFL Master’s degree programme "Chimie moléculaire et biologique")
Exclusion
If you have been definitively excluded from one or more study programmes at EPF Lausanne or ETH Zurich or another university, admission to that study programme at any level is not possible.
