The Leading House Asia at ETH Zurich supports the exchange of young researchers between Switzerland and China. The 2022 call is now open and offers the opportunity for young Chinese scholars to be hosted in a Swiss research group.

Swiss senior researchers from universities, universities of applied sciences or research institutes and from all scientific disciplines can apply to host young Chinese scholars (doctoral students or post-doctoral researchers) in Switzerland for 6–24 months. A scholarship is jointly provided by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the Leading House ETH Zurich to cover living allowance and international travel.

The Swiss main applicant (Swiss host researcher) must apply to ETH Zurich as the Leading House. The submission of the application takes place in two compulsory steps (as stated in the call guidelines):

  1. Submission of your application details via the application form online.
  2. Upload of your research proposal with the requested appendices in one single pdf document via the application form online.

At the same time, the Chinese visiting fellow must submit his/her application to the CSC. (For application details, please refer to CSC's external pagewebsite). Co-application is mandatory, failure to do so will result in the disqualification of the application.
