"In the Future There Will Be No Waste..."

The IDEAS CITY Festival theme for 2015, “Invisible Cities,” borrows from Italo Calvino’s classic novel that explores the constructs that invisibly rig cities together. Two panels continue this theme by asking, "What cultural practices define the future smart city and where can we chart the boundaries between design methodology and ethical practice?" The first panel explores how material cycles and waste management can be further integrated into design practice. The second panel asks, "How invisible ecologies can be represented and made visible and urgent?"
