Athina Anastasaki receives the Ruzicka Prize 2022
The Ruzicka-Prize 2022, sponsored by Firmenich, went to Prof. Dr. Athina Anastasaki for her research on constructing and deconstructing polymers made by controlled radical polymerization.
Science and SciLifeLab Young Scientists Prize for Florian Schmidt
For his work in developing Record-seq, a breakthrough technology that records the interactions of microbiota in the gut non invasively and thus further the understanding of gastrointestinal health, D-BSSE postdoctoral researcher Florian Schmidt from the Platt group is the grand prize winner of the 2022 Science & SciLifeLab Prize for Young Scientists. Prof. Hua Wang was elevated to the IEEE Fellow Class 2023
Hua Wang, Professor of Electronics at the Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, was elevated to the IEEE Fellow Class 2023 for contributions to high-efficiency microwave and millimeter-wave power amplifiers. Congratulations!
Three ETH architectural projects among the 11 best Swiss buildings of 2022
The HiLo unit, the GLC research building and the Klangkleid pavilion – three architectural projects connected with ETH have won one of this year’s “Arc Awards”, a Swiss architecture prize. They received the prize in the Digitalisation, Education & Health, and Special Prize categories.
Award honours Andreas Hierlemann for his efforts in promoting entrepreneurship
With the Dandelion Entrepreneurship Award, the ETH Entrepreneur Club and ETH AI Center recognise faculty members who “encourage talented people to take a leap into the market”. Nominated by ETH students, PhDs and Post- Docs, Andreas Hierlemann receives the prize in 2022 in the D-BSSE. Well deserved: since 2008, the spinoff companies Zurich Instruments, InSphero, Shift Cryptosecurity, Validity Labs, and Maxwell Biosystems originated from his Bio Engineering lab.
