As well as contests in six different disciplines, a number of different side events and an interactive programme will also be on offer for visitors. You’ll be able to see for yourself what it feels like to walk in prosthetic legs, or get around on an uneven surface using a wheelchair. There will also be an exhibition showing how prosthetics and wheelchairs have improved over the decades.

About the Cybathlon

The Cybathlon will be held on 8 October 2016 at the Swiss Arena in Kloten. The event will see people with physical disabilities take part in a unique competition, using the latest assistive technology and competing across six challenging disciplines.

Treffpunkt Science City on the Cybathlon

As part of the Treffpunkt Science City science programme, Robert Riener will be presenting the Cybathlon at the ETH Hönggerberg campus on Sunday 6 March. Visitors will have the chance to get an exclusive insight into the six disciplines featured in the Cybathlon. They’ll also get the opportunity to control a computer game with their thoughts and discover how they cope with restricted arm movement.
