Awards for robotics experts
Roland Siegwart, Bradley Nelson and Marco Hutter, professors at the Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering, are honored by the Robotics and Automation Society.
Siegwart and Nelson are the only researchers to receive the Pioneer Award of the Robotics and Automation Society (RAS). The prize honors their outstanding achievements and pioneering roles in robotics - in autonomous navigation and the design of flying and walking robots respectively in micro- and nanorobotics. Marco Hutter receives the Early Academic Career Award in Robotics and Automation for his contribution to the actuation, design and control of leg robots. The triple award reflects ETH Zurich's leading role in robotics research and technology.
The award ceremony will take place during the IEEE International Conference on Robotics & Automation (ICRA) on 22 May 2019 in Montreal, Canada.
