What is PBLabs?

PBLabs is on a mission to enable project-based education at ETH in order to help students thrive in a world of change and tackle the challenges of tomorrow. We do this through our four pillars: supporting, coaching, networking, and hosting. A key part of our offer is PBLabs RZ – a purpose-built teaching facility for project-based education in the heart of Zürich. Among the perks are flexible set- ups, an innovative curtain grid system, a large screen, and atmospheric lighting. PBLabs RZ aspires to be one of the most inspiring teaching spaces at ETH. To achieve this goal, we need you!

Your tasks

For this position, tasks will vary depending on the course or event you are supporting. They may include:

-Setting up the classroom depending on the needs and instructions of the lecturers

-Ensuring that the classroom is clean and back in its default setup after a class is finished

-Being available on-site during classes in case technical or administrative issues arise

-Providing other types of support lecturers may need during their classes

-Giving tours to interested parties as well as demonstrations on how to use the classroom to parties who have booked the space

-Event support

-Communications support: designing posters, social media posts, etc. (if you have skills in these areas) 


Your profile

As the tasks vary, there is no set profile for the Operator Pool. However, it would be great if you have some of the following qualities and experiences:

Need to have

-Hands-on mentality and proactive mindset

-Fluency in English

Nice to have

-Prior experience as a teaching assistant at ETH

-Experience in event management, event support, or customer service

-Fluency in German

-Media skills: Graphic design, social media, photography, etc. 

 

How it works


Apply via the form below. The standard ETH TA salary of 28 CHF / hour is offered. We will review your application and let you know if we can include you in the Operator Pool. If an assignment comes up that suits your skills and availability, we will contact you. Please note for this position we cannot guarantee a set number of hours per month. The working relationship is not based on a contract but based on a service agreement paid by an hourly rate. This allows you to have a TA contract elsewhere.
