ETH Zurich gives back the Leading House Asia mandate to SERI

In spring of 2024, ETH Zurich informed the State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovation (SERI) that it would not apply for the mandate as Leading House for the Swiss bilateral science and technology programme with East and Southeast Asia for the 2025–2028 funding phase. Under the framework of the Leading House Asia, ETH Zurich will no longer offer funding instruments for the 2025–2028 period. SERI will announce the future Leading House Asia for this period in due course. The Leading House Asia team at ETH Zurich will relay this information on its newsletter.

The running projects under the current mandate will be managed by ETH Zurich until they close. The International Affairs team at ETH Zurich will remain the primary point of contact for these projects.

ETH Zurich has managed the Leading House Asia mandate since its inception in 2003. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all former grantees, their partners, all applicants, partner institutions, and partner funding agencies both in Switzerland and in Asia for their support in making this programme a success and for fostering research collaboration between researchers in Switzerland and in Asia. Thanks to the high quality of research, innovative ideas, and the eagerness of everyone to collaborate, the researchers have made an impact not only in their field, but in society at large.
