In an era of escalating global challenges, the need to connect scientific research, technological innovation and humanitarian action has never been more urgent. This panel discussion brings together experts and thought leaders to explore how transdisciplinary co-creation can bridge the gaps between cutting-edge science and real-world humanitarian needs.
The focus will be on the role of universities, the use of technology in crisis management and the empowerment of vulnerable communities. Practical examples such as clean energy solutions for conflict zones and AI-supported conflict forecasting show the potential of such partnerships. The aim is to identify new ways of working together to create sustainable and scalable solutions to global challenges. The institutions of the ETH Domain – ETH Zurich, EPFL, PSI, WSL, Empa and Eawag – contribute significantly to this with their teaching and research as well as their knowledge and technology transfer at a top international level.
