Observation at all scales is critical to our ability to address global environmental changes. This is a rapidly advancing field with innovations ranging from space-based Earth and Earth-like exoplanets observation platforms to eDNA. We now have the capability to generate unprecedented insights into climate patterns, deforestation, biodiversity loss, urbanization, and natural disasters from far above our planet to the remotest habitats on Earth. They offer unique opportunities to advance sustainable and regenerative practices across various sectors, from agriculture and fisheries to urban planning and manufacturing.

RETHINKING LIVING

This event is a component of ETH Zurich’s RETHINKING LIVING initiative. We all feel massive change across just about every aspect of our lives. Climate change, the destruction of biodiversity and technological disruptions present threats, but more importantly, an opportunity to focus on grand challenges, to embrace deeper meaning, and to rediscover overlooked aspects of our lives. RETHINKING LIVING convenes scientists, industry experts and outstanding global thinkers from ETH Zurich and across the world.
