Absence during pregnancy

If you feel unwell during your pregnancy, you may stay at home or leave your workplace. No medical certificate is necessary for these pregnancy-related absences. Should you fall ill or have an protected pageaccident during your pregnancy, inform your supervisor immediately. A medical certificate must be submitted to your supervisor from the fifth day of absence at the latest.

In the case of long-term absence due to illness or an accident, employees are entitled to continue to receive a full salary commensurate to their level of employment. Their salary shall continue to be paid for up to 730 days. The rules on holiday reduction apply in the case of long-term absence.

Wherever possible, doctor’s appointments should be made during less busy hours or outside the working day. They do not count towards your working hours.
