Industry and foundation awards

This prize, sponsored by ABB Switzerland to promote research, is awarded for outstanding Master’s or doctoral theses in the areas of electrical engineering or information and automation technology.

Heinrich Hatt-Bucher prizes are awarded annually to the three best Master’s degree theses submitted in the departments of Architecture or Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering. The two departments alternate each year in receiving the award.

The Hilti prize, sponsored by Hilti AG to promote innovative research, is awarded for ETH Zurich Master’s or doctoral theses which link scientific content masterfully with practical application.

The IBM research prize is awarded for outstanding Master’s and doctoral theses written by students of Computational Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Materials Science.

The Latsis prize, sponsored by the Fondation Latsis Internationale, is awarded annually to young ETH Zurich scientific staff for scientific work.

The prize, donated by the Fondation Jean-Jacques et Felicia Lopez-Loreta, honours outstanding ETH graduates and enables them to carry out their ground-breaking research or innovation projects.

This prize is awarded for outstanding Master’s and doctoral theses in the areas of water protection and hydrology.
