Employment contract
You can securely and conveniently sign your employment contract with ETH Zurich electronically, without the need for printing or a handwritten signature. We use Skribble, a Switzerland-based e-signature platform, which allows you to sign your contract in a legally valid manner.
An invitation to sign the contract will be sent directly to your personal email address.
Step 1: Invitation to sign
You will receive an email inviting you to sign your contract electronically via Skribble.
Click on ‘View Document’ to access the platform.
Please note:
- If you are already registered with Skribble using this email address, you will be prompted to sign in.
- You can sign your employment contract electronically even if you do not have a Skribble account.
Step 2: Enter your mobile number
You will be asked to enter your mobile number for authentication.
Providing your mobile number is required for the advanced electronic signature of your employment contract. This procedure ensures protection against tampering and forgery.
Step 3: Review the contract
Your contract will now be displayed. Please review it carefully to ensure that all the details are correct and complete.
If you have any questions about the content of the contract, please contact your HR representative. For any technical issues, please reach out to external page Skribble support.
Step 4: Sign electronically
Click 'Sign Now' to electronically sign your contract. Accept the terms and conditions, and have your mobile phone ready to enter the code you receive. Once the code is entered, you will receive a confirmation message indicating that the contract has been successfully signed.
Your signature will be automatically applied to the employment contract.
Step 5: Download your contract
We recommend saving a copy of your signed contract to your local device for future reference.
Step 6: Completion
Once the signing process is complete, your contract will be automatically sent to ETH Zurich HR Operations. You will receive an email confirmation from Skribble immediately after signing, confirming that the contract has been signed by all parties.
If you have any queries about the content of your employment contract, please reach out to your HR representative. Kindly refrain from rejecting the contract until your questions have been addressed. Your HR representative can guide you through the next steps.

A paper contract can only be provided in exceptional circumstances. Please contact your HR representative to discuss this option.
Kindly note that it is not possible to print the contract from the Skribble e-signature platform, sign it manually, and return it by post.
