Your IT support for teaching.
Supporting teaching and learning is a central concern for IT Services: According to ETH Zurich's Strategy and Development Plan 2012–2016, "An effective ICT supply infrastructure and the associated services are a prerequisite for excellent teaching..." With this in mind, we would like to introduce you to the most important services provided by ITS.
In addition to the information on this page, you can find an overview of all the services offered by IT Services, sorted by category, in the IT Service catalogue as well as an overview of many important applications and links to facilitate your work at ETH.
Software is ever-present at ETH. Finding, integrating or developing software, however, is not a trivial task. If you would like to start a software project that is aligned with your needs, SW Project Services can help. ITS provides support for IT projects for the Educational Development and Technology department (LET) in the areas of Learning Management Systems (particularly Moodle) and development of mobile apps.
Our skills and offerings
IT architecture, project management, implementation and quality assurance in the areas of system integration, software development and software provision. As part of the IT Services department, the Applications section (APPS) is well acquainted with the ETH environment.
SW Project Services
We perform services for all ETH departments in the areas of business analysis, process optimisation, design, implementation, integration, quality assurance and initial operation of software. Solutions can be based on standard software or cloud services or may require software tailored to the specific need.
Collaboration
This often begins at an early stage: Needs assessment and specification, software architecture design or software evaluation, estimate of expenditures for development and/or integration work.
Implementation
Tasks can include the development of tailor-made software, the integration of standard software or cloud services, and the provision/set-up of software solutions.
Consultation
We assist with software project management, code audits, software quality management (browser tests for web apps, stress and load tests, security audits, etc.), integration of existing components and software migration.

Möchten Sie ein SW-Projekt starten, welches auf ihre Bedürfnisse in Ihrer Einheit ausgerichtet ist, dann kann SW Project Services Ihnen dabei helfen. Die ID unterstützt die informationstechnischen Projekte vom LET (Lehrentwicklung und -technologie) in den Bereichen Learning Management Systems (vor allem Moodle) und Entwicklung von Mobile Apps.

We advise you regarding technical infrastructure (web) and offer on-site support (web).
Recording and broadcasting
We record lectures and events automatically (web) or manually (web) and broadcast them in other lecture halls, at other locations (web) or over the internet (web).
Video production
For e-learning (online courses, blended learning, flipped classroom) and visualisation of academic content (web).
