Trainee programme

The aim of the trainee programme is to gain as broad an insight as possible into the tasks of IT Services during the three different assignments in order to be able to take on a permanent position within IT Services after completing the programme.  

During the programme, the trainees are closely accompanied by a godparent on each of the three assignments. They also have a mentor who looks after them throughout the programme and is available to answer any questions and concerns.

Employment

Trainees receive a fixed-term employment contract for 18 months with the aim of taking on a permanent position afterwards.

Start/duration

The first trainee programme started in September 2024 with two trainees. The dates for subsequent trainee assignments will be communicated at a later date.

Prerequisites

Bachelor's and/or Master's degree from a university or university of applied sciences, preferably in computer science or business informatics, as well as initial professional experience, e.g. through internships or work placements during your studies.

Accompanying programme

During the 18-month programme, trainees receive on-the-job professional development with various tasks and project assignments. At the same time, there is also the opportunity to take part in selected training programmes.

Trainees at ETH

In addition to the IT Services, the Real Estate Management department also offers a trainee programme together with the Engineering and Systems and Facility Services departments.
