Teaching Rooms for Lectures

Until the Course Catalogue is published, room bookings for regular courses for the coming semester are organised by the departmental Schedule Coordinators. The Room and Course Scheduling Office is the central body responsible for overall coordination of these room bookings.

After the Course Catalogue has been published, rooms can be requested for courses via the Course Scheduling Office in the Academic Services.

Once the booking block has been lifted at the start of the semester, bookings for individual dates during the semester are made by the Room Scheduling Office.

The following details are required in order to process a booking enquiry:

  • Course: number, type and title of the course
  • Lecturer’s name
  • Day of the week and time
  • Frequency
  • Location and room size (no. of seats)
  • Any unusual technical or other room requirements
  • Name and contact address, including telephone no. of the person placing the enquiry
  • Whether the course is to be carried over to the next semester, yes or no

Shortly before the start of the semester, all lecturers will receive an e-mail asking them to release any rooms that are no longer required for courses (including individual dates) using the "Return of unused teaching rooms" form.
