Opening of ZFV Restaurant "Flavour Kitchen & Science Lounge" in the new ETH research building on the Schällemätteli campus in Basel

Now that all members of the department have moved into the new BSS research building, ETH Zurich's 22nd restaurant opens its doors today, Monday, November 13.

The restaurant is spread over two levels; the "Flavor Kitchen" is located on the first floor and the "Science Lounge" on the top floor. Over the past few months, a team of responsible people from the caterer, external planners and craftsmen as well as ETH specialists (ID, Facility Services, Real Estate) have been busy rectifying the final defects and providing the necessary infrastructure. The food on offer is varied, nutritionally conscious and sustainable. Both levels have terrace seating so that you can also dine outside when the weather is fine. The terrace on the upper floor is reminiscent of the terrace of the Dozentenfoyer in Zurich, facing south with a view over the rooftops of Basel. A 24/7 self-service zone has been set up especially for ETH members who also conduct research and work on site in the evening, overnight or at weekends. In addition to the coffee machines, there are two vending machines for goods and drinks, which are refilled daily by the ZFV team on site. The menus can be regenerated directly on site using microwave ovens, and cold drinks and other options are also available.

The menu plans, opening hours and location details as well as the catering offer will be published as usual on the ETH Zurich catering website.
