Previous work experience
Andreas studied biochemistry at ETH Zurich and did his PhD and a postdoc at ETH Zurich in the group of Prof. Ingo Potrykus in genetic engineering of rice plants. He joined Paradigm Genetics, Inc., a US-based biotech start up, where he worked for three years in R&D and in production with plant functional genomics platforms. In 2001 he started at ETH transfer as technology transfer manager. From 2003 to 2005 he did his post graduate studies in management, technology and economics (MAS ETH MTEC/BWI). From 2005 until 2023 he headed the group for research agreements and industrial collaborations at ETH transfer. Since 2023 he is heading the Research Contracts Group in the new Partnerships for Innovation unit.
He is a member of swiTT (Swiss Technology Transfer Association) and ASTP (Association of European Science and Technology Transfer Professionals).
