The new LEE Building at ETH Zurich is situated very close to the main building, forming part of the Zurich skyline and making it a prominent example of urban design. The exceptional plans by architect Fawad Kazi broke new ground from a design perspective. The newly published book, ‘ETH Zürich Building LEE’, focuses on three main aspects: urban integration, construction and fabrication of the concrete elements, and comprehensive documentation of the construction process through plans and images.

Essays on various topics are supplemented by short texts that illuminate various aspects of the LEE Building. This unique book provides an in-depth picture of both the seemingly straight-forward and complex aspects of the construction of this building. This is rounded off with texts written by the architects, the builders, and the planners.

New public pathway

With the construction of the LEE Building, the city of Zurich now has a new footpath: Leonhardsteig. This pathway is publicly accessible and serves as a continuation of the road from Central along Auf der Maur to Clausiusstrasse, along the LEE’s northern facade.
