Just a few more weeks now until mulled wine, fairy lights and frantic shopping trips take over our lives again. In many families, one question dominates the run-up to Christmas: what gifts should I buy for my loved ones? What would I like to receive myself?

And what role does the religious background of Christmas play in it all? Or are gifts simply a way of expressing your appreciation and gratitude to your family?

For the December issue of by 5 November. We can help you put your piece together for publication. One “for” piece and one “against” piece will be published in the next edition of life magazine on 22 December.

We look forward to hearing your arguments!
