During the Christmas holidays, the ETH Zurich buildings are closed. During this time, the water in the pipes stands still for a long time, which can promote the formation of deposits or germs.
To ensure that the drinking water is of the highest quality when you return, the Facility Services team recommends that you let cold water run from the tap for one to two minutes before drinking it. Also remember to change the water in coffee machines and kettles. These recommendations also apply if a tap has not been used for several days – for example, after a weekend.
