The process of combining work or university studies and family responsibilities poses a major challenge for ETH employees and students. According to the DownloadGender Action Plan (PDF, 423 KB) ETH continues helping its employees and students to overcome this challenge.
The Hello Kids! service point provides extensive information on its website, helps ETH employees and students to find extrafamilial childcare and gives advice that is tailored to people’s childcare needs. If you have any other questions regarding issues related to work and family life, Hello Kids! can put you in touch with the specialist department in charge.
ETH Zurich supports families with two projects
Support for unforeseen gaps in childcare
ETH members are to be relieved of organisational and financial burdens in the event of care emergencies. They can contact the specialist service provider profawo (Verein zur Förderung der Vereinbarkeit von Familie und Beruf) for an emergency care referral service. Counselling support to reconcile work, studies and family life
ETH Zurich offers free coaching and advice to help employees and students balance their work, family life and studies. Parents with children or relatives requiring care can benefit from up to two coaching or counselling cycles at the Fachstelle UND (Competence center for reconciliation of work and family/private life).
