Open data now also for printed and handwritten sources

The two portals e-rara.ch (external link) and e-manuscripta.ch (external link) are paving the way for open data: wherever possible, the Public Domain Mark 1.0 or CC BY-SA 4.0 licence is now used for digitized documents.

They can also be used freely for academic, private, non-commercial and commercial purposes. As in the past, rare books, illustrated materials, maps, music prints, manuscripts and autographs can be downloaded free of charge.

With open data, the libraries involved in the portals support open access to information. Scientists and the interested public therefore benefit from uncomplicated access to historical materials.
