New online option for reporting faults and damage in ETH buildings

The latest version of the ETH app offers a new function: members of ETH can now easily report damage from their smartphone and contribute to quickly resolving problems.

ETH is the size of a small city. It comprises about 200 buildings, green spaces, streets and squares, public areas and thousands of rooms for its 30,000 members. In the background, an extensive technical infrastructure is in place to operate this network.

At ETH, great value is placed on keeping this infrastructure in perfect condition and up to date. An important prerequisite for making sure problems in the buildings are quickly resolved is the communication between users and the infrastructure managers.

ETH app: report damages and faults

With this new online option, the Facility Management department wants to give the members of ETH a mobile and simple way to report faults and damages. It is now possible to do so on the official ETH app under “Campus”.

Damage can be documented on a smartphone, with a photo, short description and location. The report is then available directly in the building management information system (GMIS), which is why identification via ETH login is necessary.

We are launching this option with a simple basic functionality: a report form with the option to attach an image. You will be informed by email as soon as the problem has been resolved. The status of your reports can be viewed on the real estate services portal.

With this function, we would like to give the ETH community the opportunity to actively contribute to a well-functioning infrastructure.
