Persistent identifiers in research

To commemorate its tenth birthday, ETH Zurich’s DOI Desk invites you to attend a one-day event on the topic of “Persistent Identifiers in Research”.

Persistent identifiers (PID) play an instrumental role in ensuring the traceability of digital objects from academia and research on the internet.

We are delighted to welcome speakers who will shed light on this current topic from various perspectives on Friday, 13 September 2019.

The presentations will focus on current applications for persistent identifiers in research and new ideas, developments and initiatives for the future – either from a provider perspective such as DataCite and ORCID or in ongoing projects. We will also offer an outlook by examining the possibilities that the use of block chain technologies offer in this field.

The event, which will be held in English, is not only aimed at PID providers, but also at users and anyone else interested in the topic.
